Wengen (1274 m) – a public car free, traditional yet trendy holiday resort lying on a sheltered, sun-soaked terrace, 400 metres above the picturesque Lauterbrunnen Valley.
The fantastic surrounding scenery is dominated by the dramatic Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau massif. This amazing area offers family fun, hiking and superb skiing at Männlichen-Kleine Scheidegg and the Eiger Glacier.
Since 1893, Wengen has been easily accessible from Lauterbrunnen with the historic Wengernalp Railway (WAB).
Wengen has 1200 inhabitants and offers a total of 5000 beds in 28 hotels and holiday apartments. Top events are the Lauberhorn World Cup Ski Races and the Jungfrau Marathon.
