The Swiss National Park

With its 169 km2 the Swiss National Park is the largest protected area in Switzerland and the country’s only National Parkis designated by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN)
as a category 1 nature reserve (highest protection level – strict Nature Reserve/wilderness area)

is situated in the Engadine and Münstertal valleys
(in the canton of Graubünden) in the easternmost corner of Switzerland

is famous for its rich variety of alpine animal life and its intact natural landscape
